Welcome and thank you for visiting the Kam Hon Cup Charity Golf Tournament fundraising page!
The 7th KHC Golf Tournament will be returning to the University Golf Club on Friday August 4th, 2023. The aim of this event is to bring family, friends, and colleagues together for a great round of golf, while supporting the Canadian Blood Services in memory of Kam.
Those who knew Kam will remember him as a generous and selfless man, always putting others ahead of himself. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He was passionate about his work as a Professional Mechanical Engineer and would go above and beyond to ensure that his clients were happy and that his staff were taken care of.
Kam was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in the 1990's. He battled bravely through the difficulties that came with this illness, including rounds of radiation and chemotherapy treatments along the way. He took each new obstacle in stride and never once complained about the cards he was dealt. In 2008, Kam ultimately lost his battle with cancer. He will continue to be deeply missed.
During Kam’s battle with Lymphoma he received numerous blood transfusions that were critical to his treatment. Each blood transfusion he received was a direct result of generous donations from individuals giving the “gift of life”. According to the Canadian Blood Services website, more than half of Canadians will need blood at some point in their lifetime. Every 60 seconds, someone in Canada needs blood. Canadian Blood Services needs over 100,000 new donors this year to keep pace with demand for lifesaving products and services.
We are proud to support the Canadian Blood Services at this year’s KHC Golf Tournament. Funds raised will go towards the recruitment of new blood donors and increasing awareness about blood donation.
Kam loved playing golf and could often be found at a course or driving range during what little spare time he had. He would be the first to admit, however, that golf didn't love him back. But this didn't matter to Kam. All that mattered was his quest for that elusive par in the company of family and friends. We dedicate this tournament in memory of Kam and his love for the game of golf.
