There are many ways you can help save a life

Financial donors help bring hope to patients who rely on blood and blood products by helping us do more to strengthen Canada's Lifeline. Below are just a few examples of how you can integrate a fundraising component into your next milestone or community event.

Get Inspired

Birthday or Milestone

Whether you're celebrating a significant birthday, anniversary, donor milestone or another memorable event, you can help transform patient lives. Consider asking your friends and loved one to celebrate or mark the milestone with you by supporting your fundraising efforts.

"It was really important for me to make sure I was acknowledging my heroes for my birthday... Knowing that it brings more blood donors in to help people who are in the position I was in, or an even worse position, that's what makes me emotional"

‐ Shami Rispoli, blood recipient and community fundraising volunteer

In Honour or Tribute

Inviting friends and loved ones to honour someone you care about by strengthening Canada's Lifeline with a financial gift can make a difference to many.

"Blood donors are human angels for the way they think of others; we want them to know the time they spend in that chair, is all worth it."

‐ Becker family, Partners for Life champions and community fundraising volunteers honouring their son and brother, Ben

Groups and Athletes

Whether you're organizing an athletic tournament, a neighbourhood birthday party, a corporate challenge or simply a personal milestone, you can easily integrate a fundraising component into your plans to rally your community together to support patients.

"Fundraising efforts such as Run for Calgary are important to us because service to humanity is a fundamental tenet of our faith."

‐ Ejaz Arshad, President of the AMYA Calgary Chapter and Partners for Life champion

School and Work

Consider rallying your colleagues, peers, students and/or classmates to join in lifesaving movement across your workplace or school through a community fundraiser to help save lives. Whether its by matching biological donations with financial donations, hosting a bottle drive, bake sale or tournament, grow your bond by supporting patients together.

"In years past, it felt good that I was making an impact on my own. And now I can move forward and make more of an impact and help others at work make an impact too."

‐ Cheryl Waldner, Partners for Life champion, community fundraising volunteer and marketing and communications specialist at Payworks
